High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) is an EM simulation software package from ANSYS, of Canonsburg, Penn. This software is used in laboratories for the purpose of RFID antenna design. I reached out to several experts to find out if they could describe how to use the software to simulate a planar RFID tag, but none felt they had the expertise to comment. Perhaps a tag designer will be able to comment below. I the meantime, I would suggest that you reach out to ANSYS to see if they can help you.
