Have any studies been conducted on this topic?
I have not seen any study indicating an impact, but from the activity I have noticed among our readers, I would say that it has had some influence. I think the pace of retailers coming into our database has slowed somewhat, which could be due to other reasons but is likely related to softer retail sales. Some of the companies that were committed to RFID still seem to be forging ahead. Overall, I see continued activity but at a somewhat slower pace.
