Yes, Impinj filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, but it then decided to delay the offering until market conditions improved. My guess is that radio frequency identification is still a few years away from becoming the "hot" technology, and most firms will wait until that happens before selling stock to the public.
There are, of course, dozens of businesses raising money through crowd-sourcing Web sites. Unfortunately, most offer only a sample of their product, and not actual stock.
