As I stated in my reply to another reader's very similar inquiry (see Where Can I Find Passive 2.45 GHz Tags and Readers?), Hitachi's µ-chip is one of the few passive 2.45 GHz tags on the market (see Hitachi Unveils Smallest RFID Chip, Hitachi Unveils Integrated RFID Tag and Hitachi Shrinks Smallest RFID Chip). I do not know if the chip is still being marketed, as I have not seen any news about it from Hitachi in years. My previous article stated that I knew someone who had some readers to sell, but those are long gone.
NXP Semiconductors made a chip that worked at 860 MHz to 960 MHz and 2.45 GHz, but I don't know if that company still sells the chip, or if anyone makes tags using it. You would need to contact NXP.
BayNexus made a handheld reader that read 2.45 GHz tag (see Where Can I Find 2.45 GHz RFID Tags and Readers?). Again, however, I don't know if it is still for sale. In the RFID world, 2.45 GHz has not caught on with users.
