RFID Journal Staff asked 7 years ago I am a new developer of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, and am trying to determine whether reading or deactivating RFID tags via NFC would be possible. I've heard that it is possible to deactivate NFC tags via a kill command, but I have had no luck in finding any documentation about it. Can you please point me in the right direction?

The NFC protocol does not support a kill command. Passive UHF RFID transponders based on the ISO 18000-6C air-interface protocol support the kill command, however.
