It really depends on what you want to do with it. If you need a low-cost card that a user will present to a reader, then a passive high-frequency (HF) or ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) card is best. If the card will be worn next to a person’s body, however, an active or battery-assisted tag would likely be best to ensure that every tag can be read.
