It depends on how long the tags are exposed to such high temperatures. Technologies ROI (TROI) has developed tags that can withstand 300 degrees Celsius and still be read after they cool to about 180 degrees. The tags can survive temperatures as high as 1,200 degrees for periods of about 30 seconds, according to the company.
