I want to develop an application to replace paper coupons with Near Field Communication cards. Could we create an app for Android or Microsoft Windows mobile phones that could read NFC tags? That way, we could save a lot of money when buying readers.
Yes, you can develop an app for Android and Windows phones that use an NFC reader. There are many apps available on Google Play that already do this, in fact. NXP Semiconductors offers a white paper on its site, titled “How to Build an NFC Application on Android,” which is a good place to start. There are other resources on the Web as well.
