Can an RFID card be read and connected on SharePoint for monitoring the login and logout of workers at a facility?

I'm not an expert in Microsoft's SharePoint platform, but I believe the answer is yes. When a tag passes into a read field, the reader captures its unique ID and that information can be sent to a SharePoint database, along with the time the tag was interrogated. You would need to create a piece of software to perform the tag read and send the collected information to the database and populate the appropriate fields, such as an employee's name, the tag ID associated with that worker, the date and time, and perhaps location information (if your facility has more than one entry and exit point).

Once you have the data flowing into SharePoint properly, you should be able to use the program's tools to set up a Web interface, a dashboard and so forth. If any of our readers have used SharePoint with an RFID deployment, they are invited to share some of their learnings below.
