I work in hostile environments in which kidnapping is a real risk. Is there an under-skin RFID solution you could recommend, in case of such an eventuality?

George,

RFID is a short-range technology and would not work for the application you have in mind. An implantable tag is readable from a distance of only about 18 inches, and a long-range RFID tag with a battery could be read from a maximum of 1,000 feet. Neither of these would be of much use if you were kidnapped. A GPS bracelet would be more useful, though a large GPS device would very likely be removed by any potential kidnappers. Perhaps there are covert devices you could attach as a belt buckle or hide in the heel of your shoe.
