If so, where are most of these issues seen?

Yes, there are some security issues. While they have not yet affected businesses or consumers in any significant way, companies need to think about the security of their data as they deploy RFID systems. One issue involves the security of the tag data. Can it be locked so it cannot be changed by someone equipped with a reader? And if it can be locked, how easy is it to crack the passcode in order to unlock it?

Near Field Communication (NFC) is increasingly being used for payment transactions. While the technology does offer encryption so data cannot be intercepted during transmission, it is likely that hackers and criminals will seek out ways in which to break encryption schemes and steal financial data. At present, most NFC payments are for smaller purchases, so there is not much incentive to crack encryption schemes—but that could change.
