Yes. Confidex's Pino passive UHF RFID tag was designed specifically for tracking trees and wooden objects. There is not a tag specifically designed for axes, but the Pino tag might work for this purpose. There are also transponders that can be welded to a metal axe head, but this would likely interfere with an axe's ability to split would.
