Businesses worldwide are deploying radio frequency identification technologies to boost efficiencies, improve customer service and reduce expenses. This year's RFID Journal LIVE! conference and exhibition, held on May 3-5, at the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando, Fla., featured more than 50 end-user presentations from such companies, discussing new applications for RFID, real-time location system (RTLS) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The speakers explained how to overcome implementation challenges, achieve business benefits, track and manage assets, and improve operations. More than 3,000 visitors attended this year's event.

LIVE! 2016, cornerstone-sponsored by Zebra Technologies, conference featured eight tracks—four industry-specific (Retail/Apparel, Manufacturing, Health Care/Pharmaceutical, and Defense/Aerospace,) and four how-to in nature (Supply Chain/Logistics, Payments/Authentication, Innovation, and Technology and Infrastructure). In addition, the event included six preconference seminars, four post-conference workshops, and three co-located events (IEEE RFID 2015, the Internet of Things Conference and the Last Mile Consortia Forum).

During LIVE!, visitors had the opportunity to receive fast-track training provided by RFID4U, and to become certified by the RFID Professional Institute. Those in attendance were also able to the finalists for this year's RFID Journal Awards.

Recordings of the event's speaker presentations are now available in RFID Journal's online video library. Links to videos of the conference's keynotes and general sessions, as well as the pre- and post-conference seminars and workshops, are provided on the following pages, along with PDFs of the slides used in those presentations (not all speakers have granted permission to have their presentations and/or slides archived). Videos and PDFs from the main-conference sessions, as well as the RFID Journal Awards and the Internet of Things Conference, will be spotlighted in two weeks, in the second part of this report.
