Radio frequency identification technology is being deployed at many large and midsize companies to improve efficiencies, enhance visibility, reduce shrinkage and achieve other significant business benefits. Approximately 150 visitors attended this year's RFID Journal LIVE! Europe conference and exhibition, where speakers from leading end-user companies candidly discussed new applications for RFID, the business benefits the technology delivers and how to overcome implementation challenges.

LIVE! Europe 2013 was held on Oct. 15, at the Dexter House, in London, England. Those in attendance met the leading end users, experts and RFID solution providers, and learned from a range of sessions that included leveraging RFID to enhance visibility and traceability, improving supply chain management, and boosting operational efficiency. This one-day event was designed to help companies considering using RFID technology to address real business challenges, determine the best RFID technology for their needs, learn best practices from early adopters, find the right technology partners and move forward. The conference was co-located with RFID in Europe, a not-for-profit organization established to promote the adoption of RFID and related technologies, enabling small and medium-size organizations throughout Europe to gain competitive advantage through their best use.

Recordings of the conference's speaker presentations are now available in RFID Journal's online video library. Links to these videos, along with PDFs of the slides used during the presentations, are listed below. Note that some speakers have not granted permission to have their presentations and/or slides archived.

Museum of London Uses NFC to Heighten Customer Experience
The Museum of London is utilizing Near Field Communication (NFC) RFID tags at its two facilities to provide vouchers, exhibit information, reservations and other data to users with NFC-enabled phones. The museum consists of two venues, the Museum of London and the Museum of London Docklands, funded by the Greater London Authority and the City of London. The museum, which tells the story of London from prehistoric times to the present day, has installed tags at both sites. By tapping the phone against the tags, users can access additional information about objects on display, engage with the museum on social media, join the museum's membership scheme, book exhibition tickets, or download vouchers for its shop and guidebook. In this session, the speaker explained how the museums are using NFC-enabled technology to encourage visitors to interact with the exhibits.
