Stefanini Cyber Defense, which specializes in intelligence and cyber defense solutions, has signed a global partnership with Israeli-based Shield-IoT, a cybersecurity software solution provider for the Internet of Things (IoT). Leveraging Shield-IoT's Coreset-AI asset-management and threat-prevention platform, Stefanini will now serve multiple cybersecurity domains, including IoT and Industrial IoT (IIoT).

With more than 27 billion devices expected to be connected by 2025, driven by the growing maturity of technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and the cloud, enterprises are expected to increasingly rely on connected devices to enable sustainable automated services and fuel business growth, Stefani reports. As IoT networks mature, so does the need for security. With an estimated 57 percent of IoT devices vulnerable to medium- to high-severity attacks, the company explains, security firms are seeking ways in which to protect their organization and their IoT infrastructure.

Shield-IoT's AI Threat Prevention network security solution analyzes device-to-cloud traffic statistics to detect the first signs of unknown cyber-attacks and operational events, enabling it to prevent impact to customer networks, data or IoT services. The company's network-wide Asset Management solution, combined with real-time actionable alerts, enable automatic threat prevention to ensure continuous service operation. Built to protect out-of-perimeter IoT devices and applications, the agentless SaaS platform requires no device or network changes, with no impact on existing network performance.

Leveraging the new offering, Stefanini's customers across multiple IoT and IIoT verticals—ranging from energy, water, gas and oil retailers to airlines, mining and transportation—will be able to protect any connected device or application across any network, the partners explain. The service is available worldwide, and Stefanini Cyber Defense operates in 41 countries, with security operation centers in Brazil, Peru, Romania and India.
