Feb 03, 2013Horticultural logistics supplier Container Centralen has fitted all 3.5 million of its plant trolleys (known as CC Containers) in Europe with EPC Gen 2 RFID tags, as part of an effort to better control the company's inventory and reduce shrinkage and counterfeiting. The project, dubbed "Operation Chip It," was launched in close cooperation with major European horticultural organisations and leading international RFID technology partners. The company is employing a custom-designed tag that complies with the EPC Gen 2 standards. To tackle the massive tagging job, more than 20,000 Container Centralen customers in 35 European countries were provided with the new ID tags to attach to every CC Container located within their facilities. In this session, Container Centralen's COO will share the most current data, and discuss how "Operation Chip It" is facilitating track-and-trace processes, eliminating counterfeiting, automating ordering and reducing the amount of paperwork.
