The U.S. Marine Corps’ Blount Island Command is responsible for maintaining equipment and supplies aboard maritime prepositioning ships (MPS), which are strategically positioned throughout the world for rapid delivery whenever required. The command is using RFID to expedite the loading and unloading of equipment and supplies, including tanks, howitzers, ammunition, food, hospital equipment and spare parts.
