Company Description
TransCore, a wholly owned subsidiary of Roper Industries, is a global manufacturer of RFID technology for the transportation industry. TransCore maintains RFID installations in 39 countries, with more than 31 million tags and 53,000 readers deployed worldwide, in systems for electronic toll collection; traffic management; rail, truck, container, barge and intermodal tracking; border control, airport ground transportation, parking; and vehicle access control. TransCore's history traces back to five scientists from Los Alamos National Laboratories who developed RFID systems for the federal government. They left to commercialize the technology and formed Amtech, later acquired by TransCore. Primary products include RFID tags, including the eGo Plus Windshield Sticker Tag, a read-write, windshield-mounted, multiprotocol passive 915 MHz tag that supports the Super eGo (SeGo), eGo and ATA protocols. Other transportation tags include hard case models such as toll, airport, rail and fleet applications. RFID readers include Encompass single and multiprotocol fixed and mobile readers, such as the ultra-high-performance Encompass 6, the midrange Encompass 4 and the portable, handheld Encompass 1; and the SmartPass, designed for applications with low- to mid-range performance requirements.
