Cisco Systems Offers BLE in its New Access Point

Cisco Systems’ new Meraki MR30H wireless access point includes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) functionality to provide users with flexibility in deploying IoT systems.  In fact, the company reported that the new product can support multiple devices simultaneously so that they can seamlessly connect to the network without experiencing any lag or downtime.

The Meraki access points support Wi-Fi, 2.40 GHz, 5 GHz, MIMO technology and Bluetooth 4.0. They use Power over Ethernet (PoE) to enable easy installation and wall mounting.

Additionally, the access point comes with advanced security features to protect data privacy.

The new access point can be used for Wi-Fi location and is optimized for voice and video. Leveraging its integrated BLE beacon, users can accomplish applications such as wayfinding or real time locating that can be more precise than Wi-Fi to help manage assets better.
