For standards information - You can check out www.iso.org and browse articles related to the standards (not much, but a start).

Also, check out ISO18000-x. I've seen up to ISO18000-6 so far and I'm not sure what the versions represent.

The ISO15693 seems to be relevant so it may not be a bad buy (only USD 38).
Hope this adds some complexity to your current level of confusion.
