Labeling of Books/other Educational Packaging
by PATRICIA DRAYTON, posted 06/13/2007
A LIBRARIAN CONTACTED US FROM A PUBLIC LIBRARY TODAY. SHE WANTED TO MAKE US AWARE OF A POTENTIAL PROBLEM. SHE SAID THAT MOST LIBRARIES ARE NOW GOING TO AN RFID .- THE SYSTEM CANNOT SCAN ANY BOOKS WITH FOIL ON THE COVERS.
So my question is: Is there a means of finding out the depth of the sensitivity of the RFID system? For example - can we have foil on interior pages, if there isn't foil on the cover? Does this issue also relate to any "reflective" material or just foil as a reflective surface? Message threads
