Manufacturing Application - Connection Tracking
by Doug Huang, posted 12/29/2006
Hello
I am new to the RFID field and I am trying to find a solution to the following application problem. I have 3 hoses which can be connected to up to 25 fixed point tanks. I would like to keep track of which hose is connected to which tank at any particular time. I am investigating the possibility of RFID. Ideally if there is any product out there I would like to have some sort of passive tag on the fixed point and some kind of active tag on the hose which would broadcast a signal that the two have been connected and collected by a wireless receiver. Or I would have 3 small compact readers connected to the hose (either wireless or wired) it would have to be fairly robust. Or I would require 25 readers mounted on each of the fixed points. And one other point the area is class II div 1. (ie product must be intrinsically safe) Are there any products or solutions out there. Thanks Message threads
