RFID Privacy
by Murray Allen, posted 02/14/2005
The real threat is with using EPC codes coupled with unique RFID codes plus the payment method of the purchaser. Paying by debit or credit card, even by smart cards that can be preloaded with cash (KIP card in EU for example), creates an identity trail. When a third party list provider like Axciom starts to aggregate this data, the dept of Homeland Security will not be far behind.
May I suggest using cash instead? And please wear gloves. After all, fingerprints anyone? Message threads
