To answer your question, I reached out to Sanjiv Dua of training and consulting firm RFID4U. He explained that different interrogators have different commands, and provided this C API command for Motorola readers:
In addition, Dua supplied the following screenshot in .Net. You can contact RFID4U to request the commands for other types of readers.
I also reached out to Victor Vega, the director of RFID solutions at NXP Semiconductors. Vega provided the following settings to configure a Motorola FX-9500 or FX-7400 reader to append either the user memory or the TID to the Electronic Product Code (EPC) data:
