Could an RFID Reader Transmit Information Back to a Smartphone Application?
Is such a use of radio frequency identification technology possible?
That's an interesting question. I would say yes, provided that the reader and phone both had Bluetooth functionality. For longer-range communication, an RFID reader could probably be linked to a cellular phone. The system would transmit data to a server, and the phone could connect to the server in order to retrieve that information. RFID Journal's readers with more technical knowledge than I possess might be able to suggest better ways of doing this.
