Is It Possible to Track the Locations of Up to 20 Tags in a 50-foot by 50-foot Open Space?

Can an RFID-based real-time locating system (RTLS) be used in this manner?

Yes, all passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) and active RFID-based real-time location systems can locate 20 or more tags in a 50-foot by 50-foot open space. But most systems can only locate tags to within about 10 feet, so they wouldn't be able to pinpoint the tags' precise locations. An ultra-wideband (UWB) solution can provide greater precision; UWB systems, in many cases, can locate tagged object to within a few centimeters.
