It's important to understand that radio frequency identification is an enabling technology, rather than one that delivers value on its own. RFID enables companies to collect accurate information with little or no human intervention, as well as monitor the movements and conditions of individuals and assets.

The applications that companies have found for this technology are too numerous to list. However, we do have two articles in our Get Started section that explain some of RFID's most common uses: RFID Business Applications and RFID Consumer Applications and Benefits.
