Where Can I Find RFID E-seals to Track Suppliers' Containers?
Would I need to obtain passive or active seals for this application?
There are both active and passive RFID container seals currently on the market. System Planning sells an active RFID container-tracking system that includes seals. Unisto offers electronic seals as well. But passive systems seem to be more common now.
Yeon Technologies, in Taiwan, manufactures passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) e-seals (see RFID-Enabled Electronic Seals). So do CAEN RFID (see CAEN RFID Intros New Specialty UHF RFID Tags, UHF E-Seal, UHF Reader Gate/Portal) and a Czech company called HL (see UHF Secure E-Seal and UHF RFID Seal).
Shenyang Shining Fortune Container Seal will exhibit a variety of passive RFID container seals (bolt seals, cable seals, plastic seals and more) at RFID Journal LIVE! 2018. What's more, HID Global will exhibit its new SlimFlex Seal Tag, designed for bags, bins and boxes, rather than for shipping containers.
