Is There an RFID Tag With a Read Range of More Than 20 Meters and a Weight of Less Than 0.3 Gram?
Does such a tag exist? I need to know in order to make a decision regarding a project I'm working on.
To my knowledge, there is no tag available that would meet your needs. A passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) RFID transponder typically has a read range of 6 to 10 meters (19.7 to 33 feet) and would weigh more than 0.3 gram (0.01 ounce). A tag that could achieve twice that read range would require a larger antenna and would thus weigh more. If any of our readers know of a tag that might work for Son's application, they are invited to post information below.
