Can I Combine RFID and Drones?

Posted By RFID Journal, 01.18.2016

What is the most cost-effective way to integrate a drone with an RFID reader and antenna? The range I am looking for is about 2 to 7 meters (6.6 to 23 feet).

Nathan,

This is a good question and one we will likely see come up more frequently. I don't have a good answer for you, however, because this is something that is relatively new. I would suggest looking at ThingMagic's series of UHF reader models that can be embedded in products. You should discuss with ThingMagic's engineers the best antenna and battery options for your particular needs.
