Where Can I Find RFID Software to Conduct Inventory Management?

Posted By RFID Journal, 11.13.2015

Specifically, I need software that will run on my Intermec CN70e mobile computer and read RFID tags. I don't need a management system. Can you please recommend a specific suite?

Usually, handheld readers come with software that allows you to read or locate a tag whose serial number you have input into the reader. I am unfamiliar with the specific model you have, but I would be surprised if it didn't allow you to capture a tag read.

In my opinion, the RFID community has been grossly negligent, in that it has not provided software enabling users to export tag reads to an ASCII file so they can conduct simple inventory management via a handheld reader. I have seen many companies ask for this, but I have yet to find anyone who can provide it.

After attending the last RFID Journal conference in San Diego, I was convinced there was some software that would allow me to manage my own database (via Access DB, text or Excel). I stumbled on ClearStreamRFID (www.clearstreamrfid.com). Perhaps this group could help you with a solution.
