Near Field Communication (NFC) microchips are used in NFC tags. NXP Semiconductors, one of the creators of the NFC air-interface protocol, is the leading provider of NFC chips. Texas Instruments, Moversa (see Moversa Debuts Universal NFC Chip), Shangai Huayuan Smart Information Technology and ST Microelectronics also make such chips.
