Can I Use a 2.5 GHz RFID Reader in Egypt?

Posted By RFID Journal, 10.02.2015

Has the government allocated any part of the frequency spectrum for radio frequency identification technologies?

The Egyptian government has not allocated any part of the frequency spectrum for RFID, to my knowledge. Generally speaking, 2.45 GHz is part of the industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) radio bands, but I do not know if companies are required to obtain a site license to use RFID systems operating at that frequency. If any of our readers know the answer, they are invited to post information below.
