Where Can I Obtain Solid Figures About RFID's Return on Investment?
I'm trying to get real ROI figures indicating how the technology helps track tools and products in manufacturing processes.
Me, too. Unfortunately, they don't exist. One reason is that no one has performed a study that has been published. Another is that each manufacturer is different from every other, so the return on investment calculations would differ from one firm to the next. Some companies might require more tags and readers, and thus incur greater costs, while others might need fewer. Some companies might be more inefficient than others, and would thus achieve a greater benefit. Businesses that have implemented Six Sigma strategies might get somewhat less benefit. You would probably need to work with an RFID consulting firm that could help you determine the ROI you would likely achieve from deploying the technology.
