What Are the Specification Requirements for Paint Shop RFID Applications?
Can you please let me know what specs have been established for this area?
I don't believe there are any set specifications for RFID applications in paint shops. You would need to use tags that could survive painting and curing processes, but the best tag for your needs would depend on the temperatures in your curing ovens, as well as the types of products you were painting. The readers you choose must be able to withstand airborne paint molecules and high temperatures. Turck USA produces a passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) reader, model Q120, designed for such applications (see Turck Releases Small, Low-Cost, Short-Range UHF Reader for Industrial Use).
