What Is the Estimated Cost of an RFID-enabled Trailer Seal?

Are such seals expensive—and what is their read range?

It really depends on whether you want to use an active or passive container seal. There are passive seals that can be read from a few feet away, which can be in the $5 to $20 range, depending on how ruggedized they are. Active RFID seals can be interrogated from a distance of 300 feet or more, and are generally in the $50 to $100 range—again, depending on how rugged they are and whether they connect to a cell network to inform you of a possible intrusion.
