I need one for my college project. How much will it cost me?

That really depends on the type of interrogator you wish to purchase. You can buy a Baracoda BOD-L Programmable Bluetooth Mobile Barcode & RFID-HF Terminal from Newegg Business for $399. And SecuraKey offers a high-frequency (HF) USB reader that can be found on several websites for about $155.

Ultrahigh-frequency (UHF) models tend to be a little more expensive. You can buy a Trimble ThingMagic USB Plus RFID reader at AtlasRFIDStore.com for $445. An Impinj Speedway Revolution R420 4-port fixed reader costs $1585, while an Alien Technology ALH-9001 handheld reader sells for $3,189.
