How Can I Improve Power Transfer Using CLRC663?

The CLRC663 is an NXP Semiconductors reader chip. Therefore, to answer your question, I reached out to Victor Vega, the company's director of RFID and Near Field Communication (NFC) solutions.

For proper power transfer, Victor says, you will need to undergo a tuning process. You can consult NXP's "CLRC663, MFRC630, MFRC631, SLRC610 Antenna Design Guide" for that purpose.

For help with the tuning process, Victor advises, you may also want to use the company's spreadsheet titled "Matching Calculations CLRC663, MFRC631, MFRC630, SLRC610." You can find this document by searching NXP's Web site, or clicking here.

I was matching for CLRC663 chip is between 40 ~ 130ohms but, optimization impedance of my PCD is 97.57-j3.09. Power transfer’s result is 4.70Vrms at 000 positions, 2.38Vrms at 400 positions. I used EMC Filter (L=500nH LQH31HNR50J03, C=200pF), C1=16+4.7pF, C2=100+3.9pF. I hope happen to power transfer above 3.55Vrms at 400 positions Do teach me other method to enhance power transfer without Ferrite sheet or absorber?

I need to certification of EMV using CLRC663 of my PCD.

Dear Benjamin. Maybe we can help you. Our job is only about RFID Antenna, specially for EMV Reader. We know very well CLRC663 or PN512 .... Could you send me some specifications about your reader. Example : your antenna is integrated on/on Display ? Regards, Yves. yves.eray@new-rfid-concept.com
