Where Can I Get an RFID-Safe Wallet in Brazil?

Posted By RFID Journal, 06.25.2013

I am from the Netherlands, and would appreciate your help in answering a few questions I have about the use of RFID technology in Brazil:
1. Is RFID scanning a big issue in Brazil?
2. What famous brands are selling RFID-safe wallets or card holders?
3. Where can I buy them in Brazil—at a leather store, or at a stationary shop?

I don't really understand your first question. Are you asking if the stealing of credit-card information via radio frequency identification is a big issue? If so, then the answer is that it is not an issue anywhere. There is no evidence that anyone has ever had their credit-card information stolen via RFID. Some companies, however, have tried to make it a big issue in order to promote the sales of products they sell.

I am unaware of any "famous" brands selling RFID-safe wallets, and I don't really know where you could buy one in Brazil. You could probably purchase one online, or you could just wrap your credit card in aluminum foil if you were concerned about someone stealing your information. Aluminum foil works just as well as any "safe" wallet.
