Can RFID Tags Be Embedded in PCs?

If so, can you please provide some examples?

Intel has developed a platform for embedding RFID in Microsoft Windows 8 devices. I am told that several tablet makers are planning to add this to their products, but I am unaware of any PC manufacturers that have yet embedded RFID in their products.

Dell used to sell laptops in Europe that came with a radio frequency transponder inside the case, which were offered to business customers as a way of tracking the machines. I do not know if the company is still offering this service, however.

That is the only example I am aware of in which a PC manufacturer offered tags embedded in a laptop, though Hewlett-Packard and others have a program whereby tags are affixed to servers and other enterprise IT equipment. In addition, Murata Manufacturing offers a tag that can be put in a printed circuit board, so PC makers could use the Murata solution to embed RFID in their products.
