Are RFID Tags Intrinsically Safe?

I am unsure whether you are referring to active or passive tags, but neither are certificated as intrinsically safe, unless a supplier has had them tested and certified. Logic would suggest that passive tags are intrinsically safe since they lack a battery or power source, but I would not take that for granted.
