RFID Journal Introduces 'Coolest RFID Demo' Contest
The new contest, which will take place at LIVE! 2012, will highlight interesting and unique ways in which radio frequency identification can be deployed.
Feb 23, 2012—RFID Journal announced today that it will debut its Coolest RFID Demo Contest at RFID Journal LIVE! 2012, its 10th annual conference and exhibition focused on radio frequency identification and its many business applications, to be held on Apr. 3-5, 2012, in Orlando, Fla. The new contest will help to highlight the many applications and capabilities of RFID solutions, while engaging attendees in a fun, interactive manner.
Registration for the contest, which is free and available to all exhibitors, will remain open through Mar. 2. Conference attendees will be able to vote for the winner, with the final decision decided by RFID Journal's editors, taking into account the vote totals and their own judgment.
There are no hard-and-fast rules regarding what constitutes a cool demo, and participants do not require a complete real-world application to qualify. Exhibitors are encouraged to be creative and surprise the judges—which will, in turn, lure more attendees to their booth.
Each company registering to participate in the Coolest RFID Demo Contest will have a sticker placed in front of its booth, indicating that it is participating in the competition and has a cool demonstration to show. There will be a page in the conference's onsite program guide, distributed to all attendees, containing a list of participating companies, along with a short description of each demonstration. What's more, a sign in front of the exhibit hall will indicate which booths are offering the demos.
"We are always looking for ways to make RFID Journal LIVE! more interesting and informative for our attendees," says Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "This contest will do just that. It's a great—and fun—way for exhibitors to get more leads, and to show the power of RFID technology."
To register for the contest, exhibitors must e-mail a brief description (300 words or less) detailing what makes their demo cool, unique, new and/or interesting to email@example.com—no later than Mar. 2.
