VeriChip Lands Big Distribution Deal

November 9, 2004—More VeriChip. Henry Schein, which is, according to its website, "the largest distributor of healthcare products to office-based practitioners in the combined North American and European markets," has inked a deal with Applied Digital to offer VeriChip to its network of more than 100,000 U.S. medical practices. This represents a huge distribution opportunity for VeriChip, whose most publicized deals to date have been the Mexican attorney general's office and the Baja Beach Club in Spain. While both have generated phenomenal publicity for VeriChip, they hardly provided the volume to generate a lucrative business. This Henry Schein deal, on the other hand, might.
