July 15, 2004—This article in USA Today takes a look at the RFID industry from an investor's point of view. Like similar articles that have been written recently, it concludes that the RFID space is still to young to offer sure-fire investment opportunities. Alien is mentioned as an industry leader, but because it is a privately held company, investing in Manhattan Associates, which has a 1.5% stake in Alien, is the only way to get a piece. Symbol Technologies and Zebra Technologies are also mentioned.
