IBM Takes on Flood of RFID Data

July 19, 2004—One of the anticipated transformations that large-scale RFID implementations will cause is the explosion of data produced by the constant interaction between RFID readers and tagged items. Many companies see the management of this data flood as their opportunity to capitalize on RFID. IBM is no exception, having released Monday the WebSphere Product Center, an enterprise middleware application the software giant picked up through its March acquisition of Trigo Technologies.
