Wal-Mart Expands RFID Plans

June 17, 2004—Wal-Mart has so far been pleased with the results of its RFID pilot roll-out that began in April. As a result, the retailer is moving forward aggressively with the technology: it has plans for a second RFID mandate targetting its next top 200 suppliers, and it is increasing the number of its RFID-enabled stores and distribution centers.
