RFID Journal to Hold Canadian Virtual Event

By Admin

The company will host a virtual event in place of its planned RFID Journal LIVE! Canada conference.

RFID Journal has announced that RFID Journal LIVE! Canada 2009 will be replaced with a virtual event focused on radio frequency identification usage in that country. The virtual event, known as RFID in Canada, will take place on Oct. 6, 2009, from 10 AM to 1 PM ET.

"It's clear that in these challenging economic times, companies are cutting travel budgets and other discretionary spending, which impacts their ability to attend face-to-face events," says Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "In order to meet the ongoing demand for RFID education in Canada, RFID Journal will offer a free virtual event with some of the same speakers we planned to have for the physical event."

Attendees will be able to view the presentations by means of a Web browser, and listen to the speakers either over the phone or via a voice-over-IP connection. Following each presentation, the speaker will be available to answers questions.

The focus of the agenda will be on using RFID to improve internal and supply chain efficiencies.

"RFID technology is clearly gaining momentum in Canada, but we believe a virtual event is the best way to meet the need for information at the current time," Roberti states. "For this year, it makes more sense to bring the speakers right to attendees' desktops. We think this is what the market wants right now.
