Finalists Unveiled for 12th Annual RFID Journal Awards

RFID Journal has announced the finalists for its 2018 awards. The winners will be revealed at this year's LIVE! event, being held in Orlando, Fla., on Apr. 10-12.

RFID Journal, the leading source of news and in-depth information regarding radio frequency identification, has unveiled the finalists for its 2018 RFID Journal Awards. The winners will be announced at the 16th annual RFID Journal LIVE! conference and exhibition, to be held at the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando, Fla., on Apr. 10-12. All finalists in the end-user categories will be invited to speak at the event, and the winners, along with the other end-user finalists, will each receive a prestigious crystal award.

"We received a lot of great entries this year from countries around the world," said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "These finalists show how RFID is delivering tremendous business value across different industries and in different applications. Attendees at LIVE! 2018 will benefit from hearing about these deployments and seeing the products chosen as among the best this year."

Last year's award winners: Lululemon Athletica (Best Retail Implementation), Honda (Best Manufacturing Implementation), Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (Best Health-Care Implementation), Gerdau (Best Logistics/Supply Chain Implementation), Delta Air Lines (Best RFID Implementation—Other Industry), Berntsen International (Best Use of RFID to Enhance a Product or Service), Identiv (Best New Product) and Ken Traub (RFID Special Achievement Award)

The judges also selected 10 finalists for Best New Product being exhibited at this year's LIVE! event. The finalists are:

• Avery Dennison's AD-250r6-P microwaveable UHF label
• EM Micro's em|aura RAIN RFID crypto tag ICs
• HID Global's Bluetooth sensor beacon
• Infratab Freshtime's freshness-monitoring solution
• PervasID's fully integrated, hands-free inventory, portal and checkout solution
• Phoenix Solution's PMT-06W passive UHF RFID tag
• Powercast's batteryless electronic UHF Retail Price Tag
• SensThys/Alien Technology SenseArray/Hydra UHF RFID reader
• Seeonic's SightWare X Untethered RFID reader
• Smartrac's MIDAS FLAGTAG for use on challenging materials

In addition, RFID Journal's editors will present the 2018 RFID Special Achievement Award to Kami Saidi, the head of LATAM supply chain operations at Hewlett-Packard, for his leadership of HP's pioneering RFID projects in Brazil, which include the tracking of printer production and ink cartridges for recycling.
