We'll be hosting conferences for retailers and brand owners in September, for businesses in Europe in November, and for those in the aerospace and defense sectors in December.

During the first half of each year, RFID Journal hosts our flagship event, RFID Journal LIVE!, in the United States. In the second half, we host three or four additional conferences. This year, we will host an event in Europe, as we have every year since 2005, and will also offer events focused on the retail and apparel sectors and the aerospace and defense industries.

At RFID Journal LIVE! Europe, which will be held in London on Nov. 16 (with certification training on Nov. 15), we will have keynote addresses and a main track covering key applications across a variety of industries: manufacturing, logistics, construction and so on. These applications will include asset tracking, inventory visibility, tool management and more. Our goal is to help companies learn how to deploy these solutions successfully.

We will also offer a retail track in Europe, because the retail sector is embracing RFID perhaps more than any other industry. We'll bring in experts in the use of RFID in retail, including Dr. Bill Hardgrave, the founder of the Auburn University RFID Lab, and Antonio Rizzi, a full professor of industrial logistics and supply chain management at the University of Parma. Both have worked extensively with retailers trying to understand the value that RFID can bring. In addition, the event will feature a full slate of retailers already using the technology, who will discuss the benefits they are achieving from their deployments.

Our RFID in Retail and Apparel event, to be held in New York City on Sept. 26, will focus on helping retailers and brand owners benefit from using RFID technology. This unique, one-day event will help those looking to understand RFID's value and how to deploy solutions get up to speed quickly. RFID and Aerospace and Defense, to be held on Dec. 13 in Arlington, Va. (with certification training on Dec. 12), will take the same approach, but the speakers will be experts in using RFID within the aerospace and defense sectors.

The great thing about these smaller events is that everyone speaks the same language. Attendees and speakers are from the same sector, share the same issues and understand the same terminology. This makes for a highly intimate and informative conference.

All three events will feature the leading RFID solution providers. At both the aerospace and defense and retail and apparel conferences, the exhibitors will offer solutions focused on these sectors. Attendees will get to see tags, readers and software designed to solve the specific business issues with which they have been struggling. I hope you will join us at one or more of these three events. I'm sure you will find them valuable.
