RFID Journal to Host Middle East Event

TagStone will be the Cornerstone Sponsor for RFID Journal LIVE! Middle East, to be held Jan. 5-7, 2009, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dubai.

Aug. 28, 2008—RFID Journal has announced that it will host RFID Journal LIVE! Middle East, Jan. 5-7, 2009, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dubai. TagStone, a business services firm that creates business intelligence with radio frequency identification and other wireless technologies, will be the event's Cornerstone Sponsor.

"RFID Journal has a large global audience, and we are thrilled that we are able to bring the world's premier RFID conference and exhibition to the Middle East, where there is a clear interest in RFID technologies," says Mark Roberti, founder and editor of RFID Journal. "Adoption is growing around the world, and we want to help educate those in the Middle East that want to use RFID to improve the way they do business."

The conference program will focus on how all types of RFID technologies—active, Wi-Fi, passive ultrahigh-frequency (UHF), passive high-frequency (HF) and more—can be employed to improve operations in the construction, oil and gas, and logistics sectors. LIVE! Middle East will feature leading end users objectively explaining how they utilize RFID technologies to enhance efficiencies and streamline business processes.

"The Middle East has a very robust economy and a business climate that is quite innovative," says Mike Meranda, TagStone's CEO. "We believe wireless technologies like RFID have huge potential across the GCC [Gulf Co-Operation Council], and TagStone is extremely pleased to be the Cornerstone Sponsor of RFID Journal LIVE! Middle East. RFID Journal is the worldwide authority on this industry, and they have a well-deserved reputation for providing the best educational content and the best technology trade shows anywhere."

In addition, the event will feature technology exhibits and demonstrations by leading RFID companies worldwide. "This really is a unique opportunity for companies across the Middle East to learn about how RFID can be used in their operations," Roberti says, "and to meet the vendors that can help them deploy a successful solution."
